Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer to drive end-to-end design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge embedded hardware systems. This role demands strong technical expertise in electronics design, firmware integration, and system-level engineering — paired with leadership skills to mentor teams and execute complex DeepTech projects from concept to production. You will architect robust, scalable, and field-tested hardware platforms that power ZenV’s product lines across AgriTech, MedTech, Defence, and Secure IoT domains.

Key Responsibilities:Technical & Product Leadership

● Lead end-to-end product development — from concept, design, and prototyping to testing, validation, and production. ● Architect and guide hardware–firmware co-design for embedded and edge computing systems. ● Collaborate with product management, operations, and QA teams to align engineering goals with business and customer needs. ● Ensure system integration, performance optimization, and long-term reliability. ● Drive innovation and applied R&D in emerging DeepTech domains including AgriTech automation, MedTech instrumentation, and secure embedded systems.

Hardware Expertise

● Deep, hands-on experience with microcontrollers and processors (ESP32, STM32, NXP, Raspberry Pi, etc.). ● Exposure to FPGAs, Nvidia Jetson, and custom SoCs for defence- or space-grade systems. ● Strong background in circuit design, PCB review, debugging, and validation. ● Expertise in communication protocols: UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, USB, Ethernet. ● Skilled in sensor interfacing, power management, and rugged hardware design for field and industrial environments.

Firmware & Embedded Software

● Proficiency in C/C++ and Python for embedded systems. ● Experience with FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or vendor SDKs (STM HAL, ESP-IDF, etc.). ● Strong understanding of firmware security, OTA mechanisms, and hardware–software interfacing. ● Familiar with connectivity stacks: BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa, Modbus, ZigBee, etc. ● Competence in embedded data logging, diagnostics, and performance tuning.

Domain-Specific Contributions

● Smart & Secure Systems: Edge controllers, authentication modules, secure hardware tokens. ● AgriTech: Sensor-driven automation, irrigation and environment monitoring systems. ● MedTech/HealthTech: Portable diagnostic and health monitoring devices with regulatory compliance. ● Defence & Space: Ruggedized, precision-embedded systems with emphasis on reliability and environmental resilience.

Team & Client Management

● Lead, mentor, and upskill hardware and firmware engineers across projects. ● Conduct technical reviews of schematics, layouts, and firmware architecture. ● Collaborate directly with international clients and partners for design validation, updates, and technology transfers. ● Contribute to project planning, documentation, and delivery with strong ownership and clear communication.

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering. ● 8+ years of hands-on experience in embedded hardware, firmware, and product development. ● Proven record of building, testing, and shipping commercial or industrial-grade products. ● Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with exposure to global client engagement.

Preferred Attributes:

● Experience in IoT ecosystems (device–cloud–app integration). ● Understanding of regulatory/testing standards (medical, industrial, EMI/EMC). ● Ability to build and grow multidisciplinary product engineering teams. ● Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable to a fast-paced DeepTech environment.
