This role requires deep technical expertise in circuit design, PCB development, and hardware testing — along with leadership to guide a team of engineers through the full product lifecycle from concept to mass production.

Key Responsibilities: Hardware Design & Development

  • Lead schematic design, component selection, and PCB layout for embedded systems and electronic products.
  • Develop analog and digital circuits including power supply, sensor interfaces, and communication modules.
  • Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, and design validation testing.
  • Ensure design compliance with EMC, safety, and industry standards.

Project Ownership

  • Translate system requirements into detailed hardware specifications.
  • Manage hardware development schedules, prototypes, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams for integrated product design.
  • Support design reviews and continuous improvement activities.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead a team of junior and mid-level hardware engineers.
  • Review schematics and PCB layouts; ensure design quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on mentoring in circuit design and debugging.

Testing & Validation

  • Develop test plans, perform hardware validation, and analyze results.
  • Work with QA and production teams to support prototype testing and design-for-manufacturing (DFM).
  • Troubleshoot field issues and implement design improvements.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Strong expertise in analog/digital circuit design, signal integrity, and power management.
  • Proficient with EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, Cadence Allegro, or Eagle).
  • Experience with microcontrollers (ARM, STM32, ESP32, etc.), sensors, and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, RS485).
  • Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, etc.).
  • Knowledge of embedded hardware design best practices, EMI/EMC considerations, and thermal design.
  • Understanding of hardware-software integration and firmware bring-up processes.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with IoT devices, wireless modules (Wi-Fi, BLE, LoRa, GSM), and power electronics.
  • Exposure to DFM / DFT principles and production test setup.
  • Experience in compliance testing (CE, FCC, ROHS).
  • Project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, or similar).

Key Deliverables:

  • Functional hardware prototypes.
  • Design documentation and test reports.
  • BOM, schematics, and Gerber files ready for production.
  • Trained and guided team members with improved technical output.
