What You'll Do: Drive Data Modernization: Lead the full lifecycle of Oracle database modernization, conversion, and migration projects, from initial planning to successful execution. Architect for the Future: Design, assess, and optimize our database architecture to ensure peak performance and efficiency during migration and beyond. Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with development and architecture teams to streamline data processes and champion best practices in data management. Ensure Data Excellence: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of migrated data to guarantee accuracy and completeness. Be the Knowledge Hub: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for our database modernization processes and best practices. Inspire and Guide: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to empower your fellow team members. What You'll Bring: 8+ years of progressive experience in Data Engineering, encompassing data management, modeling, and migration. Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Oracle Database architecture, features, and tools. Proven expertise in Oracle Exadata. Demonstrated success in leading data migration projects, ideally with experience migrating from DB2. A strong grasp of complex database systems and their processes from a data engineering perspective. Ability to design and implement effective performance tuning strategies for database optimization. Mastery of SQL and PL/SQL programming. Experience in developing and implementing robust backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery plans. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for collaborating effectively across diverse teams. Bonus Points For: Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database). Relevant Oracle Database Administration certifications.
