Basic Function
This position requires maintaining chart of accounts, accounting master data, data governance structure. The position requires support in various Implementation in Financial System. The role also requires to Develop & manage Business Interruption Plan, Review applications/system functionality, ma nage and operate IT environment. The role requires knowledge of IT project management, managing applications used in Insurance Accounting, multiple admin systems and MS Access.
Essential Functions
The primary responsibilities of this role include –
- Accounting system maintenance:
- Update / maintain chart of accounts
- Update / maintain accounting master data
- Support system maintenance (update and communicate CAT codes, approve new accounts)
- Maintain data governance structure with formal “data stewards”
- Financial System Implementation Support
- Good understanding of SAP Hana landscape
- Support Implementation of accounting systems (GL etc.)
- Support Implementation of Financial planning systems
- Support Implementation of reporting tools
- Support system enhancements (to align with business changes and to improve processes)
- Quality and Project Management
- Quality checks, Management sign off, PMO
- Product related activities
- IT Operations
- Understanding of Agile framework in software development life cycle
- Should be acquainted with at least one approach like Scrum, DDD etc.
- Prior hands on experience on UAT or QAT
- Review applications/system functionality
- Develop & manage Business Interruption Plan
- Manage and operate IT environment
- Manage IT finances
- Manage periodic systems validation reviews

- Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures
- Implementation of Six Sigma methodology in the business
- Monitors all quality results, root cause analysis, identifies areas of improvement and implements steps required to improve processes
- Conduct process level studies for productivity enhancement and improve process quality
- Support project teams identifying pain point using Lean tools such as Process Mapping, VSM, SIPOC
- Desired Skill set
- Sound knowledge and hands on experience with Advanced Excel and MS Access.

Work Experience & Other Requirements
- Preferred Certified Green Belt with 7-10 years of experience (minimum 5 years in Quality) in finance and accounting processes
- Knowledge and expertise in project management
- Good Computer navigation and MS Excel skills
- Comprehension skills – should be able to read, interpret business documents
- Data analytics, application management and project support experience in insurance/reinsurance.
- Ability to analyze complex information, trends, etc. and work on resolving any data anomalies.
- Good communication and business writing skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to multi task and handle adverse situations in a professional and calm manner.
