Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Quality Engineer to join our quality assurance team in a sheet metal manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will assist in monitoring production processes, performing inspections, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring that our products meet customer specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting in-process and final inspections of sheet metal components using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
  • Monitor compliance with ISO 9001 standards and internal quality procedures.
  • Support the investigation and analysis of non-conformities; help implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain and update quality documentation, including inspection records, control plans, and FAI (First Article Inspection) reports.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify quality issues and drive improvements.
  • Assist in PPAP and FMEA documentation, as required.
  • Support incoming material inspection and supplier quality evaluations.
  • Participate in internal audits and support external audit preparations.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in a quality role, preferably in sheet metal or metal fabrication industry.
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP or MRP systems is a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.

Preferred Skills (Optional):

  • Experience with laser cutting, punching, bending, or welding processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Exposure to CAD drawings and engineering blueprints.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing floor and office environment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • May require occasional overtime or weekend shifts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,403.69 - ₹20,000.00 per month
