Roles & Responsibilities of Senior Mechanical Engineer Document Number: POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Mechanical Engineer plays a crucial role in driving timely project execution. This position is accountable for upholding Master Linques vision and ensuring the mechanical team functions efficiently and effectively. The Senior Engineer leads project deliverables with high quality and supports cross-functional collaboration to achieve project goals. Reporting To: Daily reporting to the Project Coordinator In their absence, report to the Project Manager (for emergency escalation) KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Primary Responsibilities Responsible for team member performance and activities. Participate and provide insights during project design-launch meetings. Take full ownership of assigned projects and guide peers on their respective assignments to meet deadlines. Ensure dimensional accuracy and aesthetic quality of fixtures and structures. All rework on fixtures must be documented for every project. Proactively identify problems and suggest or implement corrective actions; escalate if necessary. Oversee functional trials and validations until customer requirements are met. Coordinate effectively with the electrical and programming teams to ensure on-time project completion. B. Reports to be Maintained: Maintain a dedicated project file for each project , which must include the following: Bill of Materials (BOM): Including all standard parts, fasteners, and manufactured items. Fixture Diagrams: With base plate and structure details. Balloon Diagram: Including sub-assembly details if applicable. Time Plan & RFQ: Adherence to target dates is mandatory. Quality Check Form: Verify all dimensions and aesthetics of fixtures, base plates, and structures. Trial Record: Including critical parameters, output data, and log of all trial parts. Rework Drawing Record: Document cause and changes at each correction stage. Additional Documentation: Internal & customer validation points must be recorded using the Minutes of Meeting (MOM) format. Checklist must be maintained at each project stage. Design Feedback Form to be submitted post-installation at the site. C. Periodic Activities: Provide daily project status updates via the designated online platform. Conduct daily project review with the Supervisor. Present the status of all ongoing projects during the weekly review meeting . Ensure effective customer communication during site-related work. D. Team & Leadership Responsibilities: Act as a technical mentor for junior engineers and mechanical designers. Plan, assign, and monitor tasks to ensure alignment with project timelines and quality goals . Coordinate with cross-functional teams including electrical, PLC, pneumatics, quality, and installation . Encourage innovation and propose cost-effective engineering solutions.
Understand client needs, propose technical solutions, prepare RFQs, coordinate with internal teams, support sales, ensure feasibility, cost analysis, client visits, and aid in converting leads to orders in the automation industry.
