Role Overview:
The Junior – MRO Purchase professional will support the procurement of maintenance, repair, and operating supplies essential for plant operations. The role involves vendor coordination, order processing, material tracking, and ensuring timely availability of quality materials while optimizing costs and maintaining compliance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the procurement of MRO items such as spare parts, tools, consumables, lubricants, and industrial supplies.
  • Identify, evaluate, and communicate with suppliers to obtain quotations and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms.
  • Monitor material delivery schedules and coordinate with stores and user departments to ensure timely receipt.
  • Maintain and update vendor database and procurement records in the ERP system (SAP preferred).
  • Assist in vendor performance evaluation based on quality, price, and delivery parameters.
  • Work closely with the maintenance, engineering, and stores departments to understand requirements and ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives through alternate sourcing and process improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues like delayed delivery, invoice mismatch, or quantity discrepancies.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Diploma /Graduate with relevant experience.
  • Experience: 1–3 years in MRO or indirect procurement, preferably in manufacturing / steel / process industry.
  • ERP Knowledge: SAP (MM module) or equivalent ERP system proficiency preferred.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of procurement and inventory management processes.
  • Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills across departments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under deadlines.
