Role Overview


The Junior Accountant

This role requires accuracy, accountability, and consistency in maintaining books, processing vendor payments, tracking receivables, and ensuring compliance with company financial systems.


You’ll work closely with the Finance Head, Operations Team, and Project Managers to ensure the company’s financial operations run seamlessly.


Key Responsibilities


1. Daily Accounting & Bookkeeping


• Record all financial transactions in Tally/Zoho Books/QuickBooks (as per system used).

• Manage daily entries — purchase, sales, expense, and journal vouchers.

• Handle cash, bank, and petty cash accounting.

• Reconcile bank statements weekly and report mismatches immediately.


2. Vendor & Payment Management


• Maintain vendor ledger and payment schedules.

• Process vendor invoices after validation with project and procurement teams.

• Track advances, pending bills, and ensure timely settlements as per project budgets.

• Coordinate with Operations for transport, packaging, and site expense payments.


3. Receivables & Client Billing


• Generate invoices for clients (B2B and B2C) and ensure timely dispatch.

• Track incoming payments and follow up on outstanding dues.

• Maintain client ledgers and reconcile project collections monthly.


4. GST, TDS & Compliance Support


• Assist in GST filing preparations, input reconciliation, and tax data collation.

• Handle TDS deductions and challan maintenance.

• Support CA and auditors with necessary data and documentation.


5. Reporting & Documentation


• Maintain digital and physical records of bills, vouchers, and invoices.

• Prepare weekly MIS reports on payments, receivables, and expenses.

• Assist in monthly P&L preparation and financial reporting for management review.


Key Skills & Attributes

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, ledger management, and reconciliation.

• Proficiency in Tally/Zoho Books/QuickBooks, Excel, and Google Sheets.

• Attention to detail, organization, and reliability.

• Good communication and follow-up skills.

• Ability to multitask across vendors, clients, and internal teams.


Preferred Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in retail, design, or project-based companies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.

• Prior experience with GST, TDS, and vendor payment cycles preferred.
