Java Technical Lead

What you'll do:

• Hands-on developer who writes high quality, secure code that is modular, functional and testable
• Design and build technical roadmaps to optimize services and functions with a focus on performance and cost/benefit optimization
• Lead the design, development, documentation, testing and implementation of software applications including dependent services, service interactions and policies to support Fiserv's business goals
• Perform coding, testing, and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Maintain and improve existing codebases and lead peer review processes.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to enhance team capabilities.
• Have strong ownership of your team’s software and are deep in the maintenance characteristics, runtime properties and dependencies including hardware, operating system, and build.
• Communicate, collaborate and work effectively in a global environment. Public speaking as a technology evangelist.

Experience you'll need to have:

• 9+ years of IT experience in Java development. Excellent programming skills on Core Java, web services (REST or SOAP), Multi-threading, Design Patterns, Microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge in MVC Framework, Struts, EJB, Spring, Sprint Boot JDBC/Hibernate/JPA, Application and Web Servers.
• Experience in frontend development with a strong focus on Angular/EXTJS/React, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap and JavaScript. Experience on messaging technologies like Kafka/Rabbit MO/WebSphere MQ/JMS and reporting framework like BIRT.
• Good knowledge in web programming using JSON, XML. Should have hands on experience in Caching and application performance improvement.
• Good exposure of RDBMS application development using Oracle PL/SQL or any other RDBMS and should be proficient in writing and debugging SOL Queries.
• Should have hands on experience on any Unit testing framework like Junit. Should be able to analyze the thread dumps, heap dumps, heap memory issues and provide solutions.
• Should have good exposure on working with any of Cloud platform like Azure, AWS etc. Should have hands on experience on CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Harness etc.
• Ability to design architecture enhancements in project. Good knowledge of object-oriented design principles and patterns.
• Takes ownership, perform and deliver good quality work under moderate guidance. Some level of experience in financial industry.

• Experience in the financial services industry
• Any previous experience with modernization/cloud migration etc. would be an added advantage.
