Job Title: IT Infra Technical Lead



Responsibilities:


Server Configuration and Maintenance:

Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux server operating systems.

Ensure server security, hardening and apply updates, patches, and system enhancements.

Active Directory Management:

Administer and maintain Active Directory services, including user account management, group policies, and domain configurations.

Implement security measures to safeguard Active Directory infrastructure.

File and Print Services:

Manage file and print services on Windows servers, ensuring data integrity and availability.

Implement and monitor file permissions and access controls.

Backup and Recovery:

Establish and manage backup and recovery procedures for Windows servers.

Conduct regular testing of backup systems to ensure data recoverability.

Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures for Linux servers.

Regularly test and validate backups to ensure data recoverability.

Excellent knowledge of NAS and SAN latest technologies.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

Monitor server performance, analyze resource utilization, and optimize configurations for optimal efficiency.

Identify and troubleshoot performance issues and bottlenecks.

Security and Patch Management:

Implement and maintain security protocols for Windows and Linux servers and endpoints.

Manage the deployment of security patches and updates in a timely manner.

User Support:

Provide support to end-users on Windows server-related issues.

Collaborate with IT support teams to address and resolve server-related incidents.

Collaboration with IT Teams:

Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to integrate network solutions with overall IT infrastructure.

Provide technical guidance and support to other IT professionals.

Work closely with network administrators, system engineers and other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration of Windows servers within the IT infrastructure.

Compliance:

Ensure ALL server environments comply with organizational policies, industry regulations, and best practices.

Participate in audits and assessments related to server infrastructure.

Requirements:

Ensure all audits and assessment observations related to Windows and Linux Servers are closed immediately eg. VAPT audits and software license audits.

Network Design and Architecture:

Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network architectures.

Develop network solutions that align with organizational goals and industry best practices.

Router and Switch Configuration:

Configure and manage routers, switches, and other network devices.

Implement and optimize routing protocols, VLANs, and network segmentation.

Firewall and Security:

Design and implement firewall policies to ensure network security.

Monitor and respond to security incidents, conducting regular security audits.

Network Monitoring and Optimization:

Utilize network monitoring tools to assess performance and identify areas for improvement experienced in Cisco DNAC, ISE tools, HP Aruba technologies.

Optimize network configurations for maximum efficiency and reliability.

Wireless Network Management:

Design and manage wireless networks, including access points and controllers.

Implement security measures for wireless networks to prevent unauthorized access.

VPN and Remote Access:

Configure and manage Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for secure remote access.

Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data transmitted over VPN connections.

IP Address Management (IPAM):

Implement and maintain IP address schemes and IPAM solutions.

Troubleshoot IP address conflicts and optimize IP resource allocation.

Vendor Management:

Work with network hardware and software vendors to evaluate, procure, and implement solutions.

Manage relationships with vendors and stay informed about product updates and advancements.

Incident Response and Troubleshooting:

Respond to network incidents promptly and conduct thorough troubleshooting.

Document incident details, resolutions, and preventive measures.


User Account Management:

Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls on Linux servers.

Implement and manage security measures to protect user data and server resources.

File System Management:


Manage file systems, storage, and file permissions on Linux servers.

Monitor disk usage and implement storage optimization strategies.


Server Virtualization:

Work with virtualization technologies to manage Linux server instances.

Ensure efficient utilization of resources in virtualized environments.

Scripting and Automation:

Develop and maintain scripts for task automation, system monitoring, and administration.

Streamline routine tasks to enhance operational efficiency.

Network and Servers Documentation:

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to Windows and Linux server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.

Keep documentation up-to-date with changes and improvements.

Education:

Bachelor's /Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.


Certifications:

Global certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server (e.g., MCSA, MCSE), Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate / Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certifications are a must.

VMWare certification will be an advantage.


Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019,2022).

Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policies, and related services.

In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, routing, switching, and security.

Proficiency in network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.

Proficient in Linux server operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, SuSe, Red Hat).

Strong knowledge of shell scripting and automation tools.

Communication:

Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide user support.


Problem-Solving:

Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot server-related issues and implement effective solutions.

Able to troubleshoot and resolve Server and OS related matters on prioity.

Experience:

15-20 years of hands on experience in IT Infra areas like Windows Server and Linux Servers administration, IT and OT networks, MPLS, SD WAN etc..

Experience of working in VMware environment is must.

Experience in latest storage and backup technologies is must.

Approx. 10-15 years of hands-on experience in Windows Server and Linux Server OS, with SAP environment will be an added advantage.
