IT Engineer

Job Title: IT Hardware Support Specialist Department: IT Reports to: HR Department  Employment Type: Full-time  ________________________________________ Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Hardware Support Specialist to manage and maintain the organization’s computer hardware, networking devices, and peripheral equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading hardware to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT hardware. • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues (e.g., faulty RAM, HDD/SSD, motherboard, power supply). • Maintain inventory of IT hardware assets and perform regular audits. • Setup and maintain wired and wireless network devices (routers, switches, access points). • Replace or upgrade hardware components as required. • Provide technical support to employees on hardware-related issues. • Assist in procurement and vendor coordination for IT hardware and spare parts. • Maintain documentation of repairs, replacements, and configurations. • Ensure all hardware complies with security and organizational standards. • Support AV equipment setup for meetings and presentations. ________________________________________ Qualifications and Skills: • Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • 2+ years of hands-on experience in IT hardware support. • Strong understanding of PC architecture, peripherals, and basic networking. • Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and basic BIOS settings. • Knowledge of basic network setup and troubleshooting. • Strong problem-solving and communication skills. • Ability to lift and move IT equipment as required. ________________________________________ Preferred: • Experience with asset management software. • Basic understanding of cybersecurity as related to hardware. ________________________________________ Working Conditions: • Office environment. • May require occasional travel between company locations. • On-call availability for urgent support.
