Job Description

Role OverviewThe IT Assistant Manager will support the IT function of the publishing house by ensuring smooth operation of IT systems, software platforms, digital publishing tools, and e-commerce integrations. This role involves overseeing IT infrastructure, supporting editorial and production teams, managing digital assets, and implementing technology solutions that enhance publishing efficiency and customer experience.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in managing IT infrastructure including servers, networks, ERP/CRM systems, and publishing software.Support editorial, design, and production teams with digital publishing tools (InDesign, content management systems, etc.).Oversee website and e-commerce platforms, ensuring uptime, speed, and secure transactions.Manage digital asset storage, archiving systems, and rights management tools.Ensure proper backup, recovery, and cybersecurity protocols for manuscripts, digital files, and company data.Provide IT support and training to staff for publishing software, collaboration tools, and workflow systems.Coordinate with vendors for IT procurement, licensing, and software upgrades.Monitor and troubleshoot issues with ERP, inventory, and distribution systems.Assist in implementation of digital publishing initiatives such as eBooks, online journals, and learning platforms.Prepare reports on IT operations, system efficiency, and suggest improvements.Ensure compliance with copyright, data protection, and IT governance policies.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.4–6 years of IT experience, preferably in publishing, media, or content-driven organizations.Familiarity with publishing software (Adobe Creative Suite, CMS platforms, digital publishing tools).Knowledge of ERP, inventory, and e-commerce systems.Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data management, and backup solutions.Ability to support multi-department workflows (editorial, production, sales, distribution).Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and vendor management skills.Excellent communication and training abilities.Key CompetenciesTechnical expertise in publishing-related IT systemsProblem-solving and process optimizationStrong organizational and documentation skillsCustomer- and user-focused mindsetAdaptability to emerging digital publishing technologies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
