Job Purpose
The purpose of the Interior Designer role is to conceptualize, design, and execute
aesthecally pleasing, funconal, and sustainable interior spaces in alignment with
client needs, budget, and project goals. The Interior Designer transforms client
requirements into detailed design soluons through space planning, material
selecon, and project coordinaon, while ensuring mely delivery and quality
standards. This role plays a key part in enhancing the visual and praccal appeal of
residenal, commercial, or instuonal interiors through innovave design thinking
and hands-on execuon.
KRA of Interior Designer
1. Client Consultation & Requirement Gathering
Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, lifestyle, and budget.
Interpret client requirements and translate them into design briefs.
Provide expert advice on design, materials, space planning, and aesthetics.
2. Concept Development & Space Planning
Develop design concepts and space plans that align with client expectations.
Create mood boards, sketches, and 2D/3D visualizations for presentation.
Ensure designs are functional, safe, and comply with relevant regulations.
3. Material & Finish Selection
Recommend appropriate materials, furniture, fixtures, and finishes.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for sourcing and procurement.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends, innovations, and product availability.
4. Design Execution & Project Management
Prepare detailed working drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
Coordinate with contractors, architects, and site supervisors to ensure design
implementation.
Monitor site progress and quality of work; conduct site visits as required.
5. Budget & Cost Management
Prepare project estimates and ensure work remains within budget.
Suggest cost-effective solutions without compromising design quality.
Track expenses and adjust plans if needed to avoid overruns.
6. Client Communication & Presentation
Present design proposals and revisions to clients in a clear, engaging manner.
Provide regular project updates and seek timely approvals.
Manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction with final outcomes.
7. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain project files, design records, and client approvals.
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental
standards.
Obtain necessary permits or approvals when required.
8. Collaboration & Team Coordination
Work closely with other designers, architects, engineers, and consultants.
Mentor junior designers or interns (if applicable).
Foster a collaborative and innovative design environment.

Quality of design implementation on-site

Understanding Measurement Units & Using Measuring Tools.
Qualificaons and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field from a recognized
institution.
(e.g., B.Des. in Interior Design, B.Arch., Diploma in Interior Design)
Certifications in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, or related software tools
(preferred).
Additional training in sustainable design or Vastu/Feng Shui (if relevant to the
market) is a plus.
Proficiency in design software:
o AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max or V-Ray
o Photoshop/Illustrator
o Revit (preferred for architectural coordination)
Strong skills in space planning, 3D rendering, material selection, and lighting design.
Familiarity with building codes, safety standards, and interior project costing.
Strong creativity and visualization skills.
Excellent communication and client-handling abilities.
Strong sense of aesthetics, detail orientation, and color coordination.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Team player with collaborative mindset and problem-solving approach.
Willingness to travel for site visits, vendor meetings, or client presentations.
Flexible to work extended hours when project deadlines demand.
Fluent in English and local language (if interacting with local vendors or clients).
