Insurance Investment Advisor – Duties and Responsibilities 1. Client Consultation and Financial Assessment Meet clients to understand their financial goals, income, expenses, assets, and liabilities. Assess clients’ risk tolerance, time horizon, and investment objectives. Prepare personalized insurance and investment plans based on clients’ needs and future goals. 2. Insurance Planning and Advisory Recommend suitable insurance products such as life insurance, health insurance, retirement plans, and annuities. Explain policy terms, benefits, exclusions, and premium structures in a clear, transparent manner. Ensure clients are adequately protected against life, health, property, and liability risks. 3. Investment Portfolio Management Advise clients on investment-linked insurance policies, mutual funds, bonds, and market-based products. Develop diversified investment strategies aligned with risk profiles and return expectations. Monitor and review investment portfolios regularly to ensure optimal performance. 4. Market Research and Analysis Keep updated with financial markets, tax regulations, and new insurance or investment products. Analyze economic trends to adjust client recommendations accordingly. Prepare reports and forecasts to guide investment decisions. 5. Compliance and Documentation Maintain complete and accurate records of client interactions, policies, and investments. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company guidelines (IRDAI, SEBI, etc.). Handle documentation related to policy issuance, renewals, claims, and client agreements. 6. Client Relationship Management Build and maintain long-term professional relationships with clients. Provide continuous service, policy updates, and financial reviews. Handle client concerns, renewals, and claims assistance efficiently. 7. Sales and Business Development Identify new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and market outreach. Meet assigned sales targets and contribute to company growth. Conduct financial awareness sessions and promotional activities for prospective clients. 8. Ethical and Professional Conduct Act with integrity and in the best interest of clients at all times. Maintain confidentiality of all client financial information. Uphold high standards of financial ethics and compliance. --- Skills Required Strong knowledge of insurance, investments, and taxation. Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills. Ability to interpret financial data and market trends. Customer service orientation and trust-building ability. Certification from IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) or relevant financial bodies.
