Job Summary

As an Implementation Specialist, you will be the primary technical resource responsible for successfully onboarding new accounting firms onto the Zato platform. You will guide clients through setup, configuration, data migration, integration, and training — ensuring rapid time-to-value and seamless adoption of our compliance automation platform.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end implementation projects for new clients and pilot customers
  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand client workflows and requirements
  • Configure the Zato platform: practice setup, roles, Chart of Accounts, and workflows
  • Set up integrations with Xero, Xero Practice Manager (XPM), and other systems
  • Manage data migration: extraction, transformation, and import of client data
  • Design and deliver training programs for client teams (partners, managers, accountants)
  • Create customized client documentation and workflow guides
  • Conduct UAT sessions and validate configurations before go-live
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with engineering for resolutions
  • Develop best practices, implementation playbooks, and process templates
  • Track milestones, timelines, and deliverables to ensure on-time delivery
  • Gather client feedback and relay product enhancement suggestions
  • Facilitate handoff to customer success for ongoing support
  • Maintain detailed implementation records and lessons learned


Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, Accounting, or related field
  • 4+ years’ experience in implementation or onboarding (preferably SaaS)
  • Solid understanding of accounting workflows and compliance processes
  • Experience with accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, etc.)
  • Technical aptitude for APIs, data structures, and integrations
  • Excellent project management and multitasking skills
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience with data migration and validation (ETL processes)
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
  • Experience working with accounting firms is highly preferred
  • Understanding of Chart of Accounts and financial statements is a plus
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site implementations
