Job Summary:

The HVAC Sales and Estimation Engineer is responsible for identifying business opportunities, managing client relationships, and preparing accurate cost estimates for HVAC systems in commercial, residential, and industrial sectors. This role bridges technical knowledge and sales expertise to deliver tailored HVAC solutions and close profitable deals.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in HVAC projects.
  • Meet with clients to understand their HVAC needs and propose suitable solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals to clients.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients.
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers and ensure repeat business.

Estimation & Technical Support:

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimation for HVAC systems including ducting, piping, equipment, controls, and insulation.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for accurate pricing.
  • Prepare bills of quantities (BOQ), cost breakdowns, and technical submittals.
  • Assist in value engineering exercises to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure estimation aligns with project requirements.

Project Coordination:

  • Support project handover by providing accurate and complete estimation data.
  • Attend site visits and client meetings as required.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues during the execution of projects.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in HVAC sales, estimation, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, design, and installation practices.
  • Proficiency in reading HVAC drawings, AutoCAD, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with estimation software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with local HVAC codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and energy-efficient technologies.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites.
