Job Description

As the Lead, People at The Happy Company (THC), your role is crucial in overseeing the end-to-end people operations for the Chennai hub, spanning across various business lines. Your primary responsibility is to build a reliable workforce supply chain, ensure compliance, enhance frontline performance, and effectively translate policies into actionable strategies. In collaboration with Business Operations, Culture, Finance, and Administration teams, you will play a pivotal role in staffing, compliance, productivity, and employee satisfaction. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Recruitment:** - Own the leadership in recruitment, focusing on bringing in top-tier talent to the organization. - Implement a comprehensive hiring process involving psychometric evaluations, problem-solving simulations, culture-fit assessments, and structured case interviews. - Partner with function heads to establish role benchmarks and hiring scorecards aligning with THC's performance standards. - Lead employer branding initiatives to position THC as an attractive destination for high-caliber professionals. - Source candidates through diverse channels such as local markets, community networks, job fairs, referrals, and digital platforms. - Drive the entire recruitment lifecycle from sourcing to onboarding to meet operational demands effectively. - **Onboarding & Training:** - Develop a streamlined onboarding process ensuring compliance with necessary documents and information. - Create and deliver structured training modules to enhance various skills related to hygiene, service quality, operational efficiency, and customer interactions. - Conduct sessions on company values, safety standards, and best practices to ensure new hires are job-ready. - **Engagement, Retention & Workforce Management:** - Serve as a senior advisor on policy matters across teams and functions. - Manage escalations and grievance redressals with fairness and confidentiality. - Implement retention and engagement strategies to reduce attrition and enhance loyalty. - Monitor performance metrics and conduct outlet visits to provide necessary coaching and support. - Define and track key HR metrics related to policy performance, recruitment quality, and exceptions. - **Performance & Risk Management:** - Identify and address operational, legal, and cultural risks within HR processes. - Collaborate with legal counsel to proactively mitigate risks. - Lead internal HR compliance audits and monitor performance metrics to ensure operational excellence. - Recognize and reward top performers to foster a high-performance culture. **Qualifications Required:** - MBA in Human Resource Management or HR - Armed Forces. - Over 15 years of experience in Human Resources management. - Demonstrated success in designing and implementing recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies. - Exposure to grievance handling, HR operations, and attrition management. - Candidates with teaching or academic backgrounds will also be considered.
