Job Description

Role Overview: As a Human Resource Officer at NHS Borders, you will play a crucial role in the Employee Relations (ER) team, serving as the initial point of contact for HR queries. Your responsibilities will include providing HR advisory services to specific clinical boards, supporting various HR processes, and offering operational advice on HR issues. You will need to bring professionalism, expertise, and a collaborative approach to the team to ensure the smooth functioning of HR operations. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver HR advisory services to clinical boards such as Primary & Community Services, Mental Health and Learning Disability Services, and Corporate Services - Support investigation, disciplinary, attendance, grievance, and appeal processes - Provide operational advice on HR matters including Terms and Conditions of Service, Employment and Contract Law, and HR Policies and Procedures - Assist line managers with effective absence management and participate in ER meetings Qualifications Required: - A qualification in Business Administration or Human Resource Management (Certificate in Personnel Practice or equivalent), or equivalent knowledge and experience - Previous experience working within a Human Resources function - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written - A tactful and diplomatic approach when dealing with sensitive matters - Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office - Ability to work remotely and travel to NHS Borders sites as required Additional Details: The role offers a hybrid working model, blending home working with on-site attendance, necessitating the ability to travel to NHS Borders sites. It is essential to have the relevant permission to work in the United Kingdom, which will be verified during the pre-employment checks.
