Job Description

Job Title: HSE Executive – Wind Energy

Location: Mudgal, Karnataka

Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Reports To: Project Manager

Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent

Position Overview

The HSE Executive will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental management systems across wind power projects (construction, operation, and maintenance). The role ensures compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and industry best practices to promote a strong safety culture and environmental stewardship throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations applicable to wind energy projects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments at project and operational sites.
  • Prepare and maintain HSE documentation such as method statements, risk assessments (JSA/JHA), and incident reports.
  • Lead and assist in the investigation of accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare detailed incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track and analyze incident trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Organize and conduct safety induction, toolbox talks, and regular HSE training sessions for employees and contractors.
  • Promote HSE awareness and best practices across all levels of the organization.
  • Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to ensure HSE requirements are incorporated into project planning and execution.
  • Monitor construction and maintenance activities at wind farms, including turbine installation, lifting operations, and electrical work, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain up-to-date HSE records and prepare monthly/quarterly reports for management review.
  • Support audits from internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HSE roles within the renewable energy, wind, or power sector.
  • Experience in construction and operational safety management of wind farms (WTG installation, lifting operations, working at heights, confined spaces, etc.).

Desirable:

  • First Aid and Firefighting certifications.
  • Familiarity with local environmental and occupational regulations.
  • Excellent understanding of risk assessment and hazard control measures.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in remote site conditions.
  • Ability to foster a positive safety culture among multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Good reporting and documentation skills (MS Office, HSE software).

Working Conditions

  • Based at project sites and/or corporate office, with frequent travel to wind farm locations.
  • Must be willing to work in outdoor and remote environments under varying weather conditions.
