Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll operations for India: salary calculation, variable payouts, reimbursements, and month-end closures with strict accuracy and timelines.
  • Ensure full statutory compliance across EPF, ESI, TDS, Professional Tax and other state-specific labour statutes; prepare and file periodic returns and reconciliations.
  • Maintain and administer HRIS/payroll systems; implement process improvements, automate repetitive tasks and maintain audit-ready payroll records.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and variance analysis; resolve discrepancies with finance, HR and external vendors prior to payroll run.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, consultants and government authorities during audits and inspections; execute corrective actions for identified gaps.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for employee payroll queries, salary structuring, exits/settlements and statutory certifications; deliver clear, timely responses.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree / MBA in HR preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in HR Operations & Compliance
  • Solid knowledge of payroll process and statutory compliance
  • Hands-on experience with PF, ESI, PT portals & payroll software
  • Strong Excel & documentation skills
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and follow-through
  • Prior experience handling end-to-end payroll and statutory compliance in India; experience with internal or external payroll audits is a plus.
