Human Resources Intern (Remote) — India

About The Opportunity

A fast-moving company in the apparel and D2C fashion retail sector seeking to scale its people operations. We operate across online retail, supply-chain, and customer-facing teams and are building repeatable HR processes to support rapid hiring, employee experience, and legal compliance. This fully remote internship offers hands-on exposure to HR operations, recruitment, and people programs for candidates based in India.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end recruitment activities: create job postings, screen CVs, schedule interviews, and maintain candidate pipelines in the ATS.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding workflows — prepare offer letters, manage documentation, and ensure timely hardware/access provisioning.
  • Maintain and update HRIS/employee records; ensure accuracy of personal, attendance, and leave data.
  • Assist payroll and benefits teams by collecting timesheets, verifying attendance inputs, and compiling payroll-related documents.
  • Run basic HR reporting and analytics (headcount, attrition, hiring velocity) using Excel/Sheets to inform decision-making.
  • Help design and execute employee engagement initiatives and internal communications to boost remote team culture.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelors degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • Strong communication skills — professional email and phone etiquette for candidate interactions.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel / Google Sheets (filters, VLOOKUP/INDEX, pivot basics).
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) or willingness to learn HRIS tools quickly.
  • High level of confidentiality, attention to detail, and organisational ability to manage multiple tasks.

Preferred

  • Prior internship or project experience in recruitment, HR operations, or talent coordination.
  • Basic understanding of Indian labour law, payroll components, and statutory compliance.
  • Experience creating simple dashboards or HR reports and comfortable working in distributed/remote teams.
