The Hospital Administrator will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all non-clinical operations of a 30-bed speciality hospital focused on gynaecology, laparoscopic surgery, and women’s health. The role involves ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining quality and safety standards, managing support and clinical staff logistics, supervising housekeeping, and handling daily administrative functions.
The administrator will act as the central point of coordination between doctors, nursing staff, patients, and support teams to ensure the hospital runs smoothly and delivers excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:1. Quality Management (NABH / Infection Control / Patient Care)Implement and maintain NABH and hospital quality assurance protocols.
Conduct regular internal audits and maintain documentation of all departments.
Ensure infection control practices and biomedical waste management are strictly followed.
Coordinate with the OT, nursing, and housekeeping teams to uphold hygiene and patient safety standards.
Collect patient feedback, analyze trends, and initiate corrective actions for service improvement.
2. Human Resource ManagementManage manpower planning, recruitment, and onboarding of new staff (clinical and non-clinical).
Maintain staff records, attendance, payroll coordination, and leave management.
Conduct performance evaluations and handle staff grievances professionally.
Organize staff training on hospital protocols, communication, and patient handling.
Foster a positive, ethical, and team-oriented work culture.
3. Cleaning, Housekeeping & Facility ManagementSupervise cleaning and housekeeping teams to maintain 24/7 hygiene in patient wards, OTs, ICUs, OPD, and public areas.
Prepare daily cleaning schedules and verify adherence through inspection rounds.
Ensure strict compliance with hospital sanitation, infection control, and biomedical waste disposal standards.
Coordinate with vendors for housekeeping materials, linen, and pest control services.
4. Day-to-Day Hospital OperationsOversee daily coordination between reception, OPD, IPD, OT, pharmacy, laboratory, and nursing departments.
Ensure smooth patient flow and timely support services for surgeries and procedures.
Monitor inventory, maintenance, and utility management (oxygen, ACs, water, generators, etc.).
Address operational issues promptly to prevent disruption in hospital activities.
Maintain effective communication with doctors and department heads regarding operational updates.
5. Recruitment & TrainingIdentify manpower gaps and plan timely recruitment in consultation with management.
Conduct interviews and assist in staff selection for nursing, reception, housekeeping, and administrative posts.
Organize induction and periodic skill enhancement programs for staff.
Ensure that all employees are well-trained in emergency preparedness and patient communication.
Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, or Business Administration.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hospital administration, preferably in a medium-sized (20–50 bed) hospital setup.
Familiarity with NABH standards, infection control, and quality documentation.
Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills.
Ability to handle pressure and coordinate effectively with medical and non-medical teams.
