Job Description

The Area Service Incharge is responsible for managing and overseeing all service-related activities within a designated geographical area. This includes supervising service technicians, ensuring timely resolution of customer complaints, maintaining service quality standards, and coordinating with the sales and operations teams to deliver excellent customer support for all battery products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Service Operations Management

    • Oversee and manage all service activities in the assigned area.
    • Ensure prompt and effective resolution of customer complaints and technical issues.
    • Monitor field service activities to ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
  2. Team Supervision

    • Lead, train, and supervise a team of service technicians and support staff.
    • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and skill development sessions.
  3. Customer Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, distributors, and end customers.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering timely service support.
  4. Technical Support

    • Provide technical assistance for product installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
    • Support warranty claim processing and root cause analysis for product failures.
  5. Inventory & Asset Management

    • Ensure adequate stock of service spares and tools at service centers.
    • Maintain records of service tools, equipment, and assets.
  6. Reporting & Documentation

    • Generate regular reports on service calls, product issues, and customer feedback.
    • Maintain documentation related to service logs, warranty claims, and training records.
  7. Compliance & Safety

    • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental guidelines during service operations.
    • Enforce quality control checks on repaired products and services rendered.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Turnaround Time (TAT) for service calls
  • First-time fix rate
  • Customer satisfaction score
  • Reduction in repeat complaints
  • Compliance with warranty policies
  • Technician productivity and training hours

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Diploma / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience:

    47 years in battery service (automotive/industrial/inverter batteries preferred), with at least 2 years in a supervisory or in-charge role.

Skills Required:

  • Strong technical knowledge of battery technologies (Lead-Acid, Lithium-ion, etc.)
  • Team management and leadership
  • Customer handling and conflict resolution
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in service reporting tools (ERP/CRM)
  • Basic MS Office skills and email communication
