Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Software Engineering to lead our global engineering function. This individual will be responsible for driving the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of scalable web and mobile applications, data platforms, and cloud infrastructure to support core business initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in full-stack development, cloud architecture, mobile application delivery, and data engineering, along with a proven track record of managing high-performing, cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage global engineering teams (50+ engineers, DevOps, and IT professionals) to deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business goals.
Drive architectural decisions and ensure best practices in designing scalable, secure, and high-performing systems across web, mobile, and data platforms.
Oversee full product lifecycles from concept through development, testing, deployment, and performance optimization.
Maintain a strong focus on managing technical debt while balancing innovation and long-term sustainability.
Guide development across the full technology stack, including backend (Java, Python, PHP), frontend, mobile (Android), and database systems (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Lead initiatives around cloud infrastructure and services, primarily on AWS, ensuring scalability and reliability.
Own the data engineering roadmap, leading teams in developing data pipelines, analytics dashboards, and business intelligence solutions using Power BI or similar platforms.
Collaborate with Product, R&D, Cybersecurity, IoT, Telematics, and other business units to align technology initiatives with strategic goals.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, agile delivery, mentorship, and technical excellence across distributed teams.
Ensure adherence to compliance standards and security best practices across all engineering functions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
12+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in a senior leadership or executive role.
Proven experience leading large-scale software and data engineering initiatives.
Strong understanding of microservices architecture, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (especially AWS).
Deep technical expertise in Java, Python, PHP, relational and non-relational databases.
Experience with mobile app development, particularly Android.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate across departments.
Strong project and people management skills, including budget and timeline responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with IoT, Telematics, or similar connected ecosystems.
Exposure to cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks.
Prior work in data monetization or analytics-driven product strategies.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies at scale.
