This role is with one of our portfolio companies.
We are seeking individuals from retail or direct-to-consumer (D2C) companies.
The role of Head-Retail requires the effective and efficient management of day-to-day retail operations, ensuring the achievement of sales KPIs in line with the annual operating plan, training and developing personnel, and maintaining the security of stock, cash, property, and equipment.
- Develop a strategy to drive growth in the company's own stores, and department stores - in line with the company's growth targets.
- Define and strategize a roadmap to scale EBOs to 100+ stores within 2 years.
- Identify opportunities for expansion into new retail markets. Also develop and execute actionable plans to enter and succeed in these markets.
- Oversee the operations of retail stores, ensuring optimal inventory management, visual merchandising, and customer service standards.
- Lead, develop & implement the sales strategy, monitor sales activities against goals to achieve the annual sales target.
- Develop and maintain relationships in the industry to stay up-to-date on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive dynamics.
- Manage the retail budget, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective operations while delivering strong financial results.
- Hire, lead and manage a team of retail professionals, including regional managers, store managers and sales staff, to ensure consistent implementation of the retail strategy.
- Monitor store performance metrics, sales targets, and customer feedback to continuously improve staff performance and store operations.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to create effective promotional campaigns, product launches, and events.
- Cultivate relationships with retail partners, distributors, and key stakeholders to expand our retail presence and strengthen collaborations.
- Master's degree in business administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience, with significant experience in retail management. Proven track record of leading successful retail operations is ideal.
- Strong understanding of retail industry trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Out of the box thinkers are strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical skills to interpret sales data, market insights, and performance metrics.
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and drive innovation in retail strategies
