Head of R&D – Polymer Compounding

Location: Gurugram

Experience: 12+ years in R&D, with 5+ years in leadership

Industry: Polymer Compounding / Materials Innovation

Travel: ~30% (domestic + international)

What You’ll Lead

• End-to-end product development—from concept to commercialization
• Innovation programs in sustainable materials, circular economy, and high-performance polymer compounds
• Collaboration with manufacturing, quality, marketing, and global customers
• Regular interactions with local and international customers, OEMs, and partners to identify opportunities and co-develop solutions
• Building strong, long-term customer relationships and technical partnerships
• IP generation, regulatory compliance, and technology roadmap development
• Approximately 30% travel

What You Bring

• 12+ years of R&D experience in polymers, materials, or chemical formulations
• Strong background in polymer processing and characterization
• Proficiency in analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable insights
• Educational qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• Proven leadership managing multi-disciplinary innovation teams
• Experience working with cross-cultural or international teams and customers
• Ability to convert customer insights into practical, high-performance material solutions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to nurture technical and commercial relationships
• A strategic mindset with hands-on problem-solving capability
• Prior experience with the compounding or automotive industry will be advantageous
