Position Overview:

The Head of Finance will lead the financial strategy, planning, management, and compliance for the organization. This role requires strong leadership and a deep understanding of nonprofit financial practices, regulatory frameworks, and donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Planning

• Develop and oversee the organization’s financial strategy in alignment with strategic goals
• Prepare annual budgets and forecasts in coordination with program and leadership teams
• Lead the financial planning process and guide resource allocation decisions

Accounting & Compliance

• Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of books of accounts (Tally or ERP)
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements: Income Tax, FCRA, GST, PF, ESI
• Oversee annual audits, internal audits, and donor-specific audits

Donor & Grant Management

• Monitor fund utilization and prepare financial reports for donors and stakeholders
• Assist program teams in budgeting for proposals and tracking fund disbursement
• Ensure timely reporting as per donor/CSR requirements
• Team Leadership & Coordination
• Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team
• Work closely with other department heads and senior management
• Liaise with the Board, auditors, banks, and legal advisors

Qualifications & Experience:

• M.com or MBA Finance preferred
• 10–15 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role in the development/nonprofit sector
• In-depth knowledge of FCRA, Income Tax, CSR compliance, and donor reporting
• Strong working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho)
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
