Head of Design

Job Title: Design Head – PEB (Pre-Engineered Buildings)

Location: Hyderabad

Reporting To: Director / Technical Head / Managing Director

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the design and engineering activities for Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) projects, ensuring structural integrity, cost-effectiveness, compliance with standards, and timely delivery of design outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the Design & Engineering team for all PEB projects.

* Review and approve design calculations, connection designs, and fabrication drawings.

* Ensure all designs comply with industry codes (AISC, MBMA, IS codes, etc.) and client specifications.

* Coordinate with sales, estimation, project management, and production teams to provide optimal design solutions.

* Optimize designs for material efficiency and structural performance.

* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design engineers and detailers.

* Manage Tekla / STAAD / MBS modeling and drawing accuracy.

* Review and finalize Design Basis Reports (DBR) and ensure all design deliverables meet quality standards.

* Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors for design approvals and clarifications.

* Monitor project timelines and ensure on-time release of design drawings to manufacturing.

* Drive innovation and cost optimization initiatives within the design department.

Required Skills & Competencies:

* Strong knowledge of PEB structural design, connection design, and detailing.

* Proficiency in MBS, STAAD Pro, Tekla, AutoCAD, and related design tools.

* Excellent understanding of AISC, MBMA, IS codes.

* Leadership and team management abilities.

* Strong communication and coordination skills.

* Analytical thinking and problem-solving approach.

Qualification & Experience:

B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech in Civil or Structural Engineering.

15–20 years of experience in PEB design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Prior experience in reputed PEB manufacturing or design firms is preferred.
