As a Tech and AI Director within BCG’s Financial Institutions (FI) Practice Area (PA), with a focus on the TechX topic, you will work closely with the Global and Regional Topic Leaders, as well as Global and Regional Practice Area Leaders and their leadership team to drive the development and growth of the TechX in FI offering, shaping and orchestrating the commercial agenda. You will also collaborate closely with the PA Management and Operations Team, the Vantage Team, and other global and regional BCG teams as needed.More specifically, activities will include but are not limited to:
- Business Development: Drive leadership in market sensing, business development planning, and tracking for the TechX in FI topic. Align on priority clients and offerings related to the intersection of Technology & Digital Advantage (TDA) and FI, as well as the integration of BCGX offerings into FI. Identify key business development initiatives and commercial opportunities, manage execution, and report on revenue and lead flow.
- Go-to-Market: Actively drive commercialization of key offerings by working closely with TDA, and BCGX leadership, ensuring alignment on client needs within FI. Develop go-to-market materials to ensure Managing Directors and Partners (MDPs) have access to relevant commercial assets for both FI clients.
- Teaming: Manage the community of Tech and AI “mission leaders”, orchestrate leadership cadence, onboard new members, ensure objectives and delivery are aligned with FI strategic plan
- Competitive Intelligence: Conduct analysis on differentiating IP, technology trends, and business models of competitors at the intersection of TDA and FI. Provide insights and develop recommendations on commercial approaches to maximize opportunities in the FI space.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Build strong connections with leaders in adjacent practices, such as TDA and BCGX, aligning on cross-sector and cross-functional priorities and go-to-market strategies, including key client campaigns and content customization.
- Content and SATT: drive content creation and development of TechX point of view on the market (Tech in FI report), and shape our presence at major SATT conferences.
- Reporting: Set up and manage internal processes for data gathering and reporting on business development performance, involving multiple functions and databases to track TechX FI initiatives.
- Knowledge Management: Work closely with the Vantage Team to ensure key knowledge assets, particularly those at the intersection of FI and TDA, are up-to-date and easily accessible by relevant teams.
- IP Development and Commercialization: Identify and drive opportunities to develop and market new IP in collaboration with the TechX in FI Topic Leader and Regional Leaders. Manage the topic IP budget and help drive commercialization to maximize investment. Proactively advance the TechX FI agenda by sharing best practices, materials, and experiences globally.
- PA contribution: contributing to ad hoc global & regional initiatives as part of overall FIPA strategy
As part of the Business Development community at BCG, you will work closely with the FI PA leadership, TechX in FI topic leadership, and your peers in business development across other PAs, contributing to the exchange of best practices and continuous improvement. You will be joining a fast-growing topic at BCG and be part of a dynamic team, helping to shape the future of the TechX in FI offering.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- Role related certifications preferred
- BCG experience preferred, ideally in a Sector/Offer/BD Management or Consulting Team role (equivalent to Project Leader)
- Proven ability to manage and drive business development, with expertise in Technology and Financial Institutions highly desirable
- Strong business acumen and ability to navigate complex problems autonomously
- Strong interpersonal skills and credibility to influence senior stakeholders in both FI and TDA spaces
- Ability to handle sensitive client, BCG, and people-related information with discretion
- Advanced knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel; additional skills in Tableau, Alteryx, or similar tools would be a plus
Who You'll Work WithThe TechX Director works closely with the Global and Regional Topic Leaders for TechX in FI and their leadership team to set and execute the commercial agenda. You will also collaborate closely with Practice Area Regional Managers, Coordinators, Marketers, Knowledge Experts, and your peers across adjacent BCG practices such as Tech & Digital Advantage, Financial Institutions Practice Area, and BCGX as needed.Additional infoPractice Area Management & Operations team members keep BCG’s industry and functional practice areas operating responsively and efficiently. As a member of this team, you will contribute directly to the success of our business through a number of roles, including content development, process management, marketing, meeting and conference management, and internal/external communications.
