Your Role And Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for leading diverse teams of engineers, technical specialists, project engineering specialists as part of the Process Industries Division, Process Automation Business Area, supporting an end-to-end Project life cycle starting from Pre-Sales, Sales, Engineering, R&D & service for multiple Business Lines & Functions. You will be mainly accountable for:
- Lead a workforce of 250+ engineers across Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, and NCR, supporting bids and projects in Electrification, Drives, Motors, Automation, R&D, and Digital portfolios.
- Drive pre-sales engagements and support bid and proposal activities to increase order volumes for local divisions.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance team productivity, efficiency, and delivery quality.
- Build engineering and operational capabilities through structured training, mentoring, and development programs with measurable year-over-year skill improvement KPIs.
- Oversee R&D project execution in alignment with NORRD timelines and milestones, ensuring balanced resource allocation between delivery and innovation.
- Manage demand forecasting processes to enable effective demand-supply planning across engineering functions.
- Ensure engineering teams are adequately resourced, skilled, and equipped to meet evolving business needs and customer expectations.
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement by guiding teams, enforcing HSE standards, and driving innovation across the project lifecycle.
Qualifications For The Role
- Minimum 20 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Bid Management, and Proposals within process or energy industries.
- In-depth domain expertise in Metals, Pulp & Paper, Cement, and Mining, with a strong ability to align with Business Line strategies and drive value through stakeholder engagement.
- Strong knowledge of electrification, motors, drives, automation, digital systems and solutions.
- Proven experience leading teams of specialists and project engineers delivering full-scope projects across multiple process industry domains.
- Hands-on experience across the full engineering lifecycle including FEED (Pre-Sales), detailed design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and performance guarantee delivery.
- Familiarity with international engineering standards and a deep understanding of customer requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successful cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Electronics Engineering.
