Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic professional to lead general trade sales operations and strengthen our market presence. The role requires strong market analysis, channel strategy formulation, distributor management, and negotiation skills to ensure profitable and sustainable growth in general trade.

Key Responsibilities:

· Market Study & Insights

o Conduct regular market research to understand consumer trends, competitor activities, and channel opportunities.

o Identify new geographies, retail clusters, and distribution gaps for expansion.

o Provide actionable insights to management for product positioning and pricing strategy.

· Sales strategy & execution

o Design and implement gt sales strategies to achieve monthly/quarterly/annual targets.

o Develop distributor incentive programs, trade schemes, and retail promotions.

o Ensure numeric & weighted distribution growth across categories.

· Distributor & channel management

o Appoint, onboard, and manage distributors ensuring roi, compliance, and operational efficiency.

o Negotiate margins, trade terms, and credit policies with distributors/retailers.

o Drive secondary sales through regular engagement with retailers and stockists.

· Team leadership & performance

o Lead, train, and mentor territory sales officers and field executives.

o Drive productivity, coverage, and execution of trade marketing initiatives.

o Monitor team kpis and sales dashboards for performance improvement.

· Negotiation & relationship management

o Negotiate effectively with distributors, large-format retailers, and key trade partners.

o Manage conflicts, ensure smooth trade relations, and maintain healthy long-term partnerships.

· Reporting & compliance

o Prepare monthly business review reports highlighting sales performance, competitor moves, and market intelligence.

o Ensure strict compliance with company policies, pricing, and credit controls.

Qualifications & skills:

· Graduate / mba in sales, marketing, or business management.

· 3-6 years of proven experience in general trade sales (fmcg / consumer goods).

· Strong skills in market study, sales strategy, distributor handling, and negotiations.

· Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

· Proficiency in ms excel, powerpoint, and sales reporting systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
