Job Description

The General Manager – Projects (Solar) will be responsible for leading, planning, and executing solar power projects from concept to commissioning. This role involves complete ownership of project delivery including design, procurement, construction, quality, safety, cost management, and client satisfaction. The GM will head the projects team and ensure timely completion of solar EPC projects as per technical and commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities:1. Project Planning & Execution
  • Lead end-to-end execution of solar projects (Rooftop, Ground-mounted, Utility-scale).
  • Prepare detailed project schedules, resource allocation, and execution strategies.
  • Monitor project milestones and ensure on-time delivery within approved budgets.
2. Engineering & Design Oversight
  • Review and approve system design, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with MNRE, GERC, DISCOM, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Optimize designs for efficiency, cost, and performance.
3. Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Finalize vendors for modules, inverters, structures, BOS, and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate contracts, ensure timely procurement and material delivery.
  • Manage relationships with EPC partners and suppliers.
4. Construction & Site Management
  • Supervise site execution teams, contractors, and project managers.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Resolve technical/site-related issues promptly.
5. Financial & Commercial Management
  • Prepare project budgets, cost forecasts, and MIS reports
  • Control project expenses and ensure profitability.
  • Manage client billing, invoicing, and cash flow for projects.
6. Team Leadership & Coordination
  • Lead a team of project managers, engineers, and site staff.
  • Mentor, train, and motivate the projects team for performance excellence.
  • Coordinate with internal departments – Design, SCM, Finance, and Sales.
7. Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, government agencies, and consultants.
  • Handle approvals, permits, and clearances from authorities.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through transparent communication.
