About This Role:
The General Manager Technical is responsible for leading the technical functions of the organisation, including engineering, product development, operations, and technical strategy. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and experience managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality products/solutions.

Experience: 15+ years (with at least 5+ years in technical leadership)
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in a relevant field; MBA is a plus
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the company’s technical vision and roadmap.
- Lead engineering and technical teams to achieve business and project goals.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial.
2. Project & Delivery Management
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of technical projects.
- Ensure timelines, quality standards, and client expectations are met.
- Mitigate technical risks and provide timely solutions to challenges.
3. Product & Solution Development
- Drive innovation in products, systems, and processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Operations, Sales) to ensure feasibility and scalability.
- Review and approve technical architecture, designs, and specifications.
4. Team Management & Mentoring
- Manage and mentor engineering leads, developers, and other technical teams.
- Enable a culture of learning, innovation, and high performance.
- Plan workforce requirements and drive recruitment for technical roles.
5. Stakeholder & Client Management
- Work closely with clients to understand technical requirements.
- Provide technical leadership during client discussions, demos, and escalations.
- Represent the technical function in leadership meetings.
6. Operations & Process Excellence
- Establish best practices, development standards, and quality guidelines like timesheets management, invoicing
- Ensure smooth technical operations, system reliability, and performance.
- Optimize cost, resources, and technical budgets.
7. Compliance & Security
- Ensure systems follow security, data protection, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and audit readiness.
8. Hiring, Training & Performance Appraisals.
- Experience conducting campus interviews and generally involved in hiring process.
- Develop a structured training plan in consultation with different units and execute the same.
- Design and Execute performance appraisals process
9. Sales & Presales
- Experience executing RFPs and getting involved in sales processes.
- Experience developing presales content and collaborating with marketing and sales team.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical expertise in software development/engineering / systems / cloud (as relevant)
- Solid understanding of architecture, design patterns, and development practices
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Experience in managing large teams and complex technical projects
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and modern engineering practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in software development, engineering, or related technical roles.
- Minimum 5+ years in a senior leadership position (AGM/GM/Head/Director).
- Strong knowledge of modern technologies such as cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), microservices, DevOps, data platforms, AI/ML, etc.
- Proven experience in managing large technical teams and delivering complex projects.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and operational management skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related fields
- Experience working in product-based or fast-paced tech environments
- Certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, AWS/Azure Architect (optional but valuable)
