Job Summary:

This role is responsible for driving the end-to-end product development process, from ideation to commercialization, ensuring alignment with market trends, brand vision, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in skincare product formulation, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Innovation

• Lead the research, conceptualization, and formulation of new skincare products, ensuring innovation aligns with brand positioning and customer needs.
• Stay ahead of emerging skincare trends, ingredients, and technologies to drive category growth.
• Work closely with R&D, suppliers, and external labs to develop high-performance formulations that meet quality and efficacy standards.
• Manage the formulation process, testing, and reformulation to optimize product efficacy and stability.

Project & Cross-Functional Management

• Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring timely execution and budget adherence.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, regulatory, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless product launches.
• Develop and maintain detailed project timelines, ensuring key milestones are met.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks in the product development process.

Market & Competitive Analysis

• Conduct thorough market research to understand consumer needs, preferences, and gaps in the skincare industry.
• Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to ensure the brand remains at the forefront of innovation.
• Leverage consumer insights and data to develop compelling product propositions.

Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure all products meet local and international regulatory requirements, working closely with legal and compliance teams.
• Oversee product claims, safety testing, and certification processes.
• Keep updated on evolving industry regulations and sustainability standards.

Financial & Business Strategy

• Develop business cases for new products, including cost analysis, pricing strategies, and margin optimization.
• Work closely with finance and procurement teams to manage cost structures and profitability.
• Optimize sourcing strategies for raw materials and packaging components to maintain quality and cost efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in skincare product development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully launching innovative skincare products.
• Strong understanding of formulation science, ingredient trends, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent project management and leadership skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Passion for the beauty and skincare industry.
