Job Title: General Manager Corporates & Government Relations

Role Overview

The General Manager - Corporates & Government Relations will be responsible for leading strategic engagements with government departments, corporate partners, and policy-driven programs. This role requires a strong understanding of government functioning, public policy frameworks, and corporate collaboration models. The ideal candidate will have exceptional networking capabilities, the ability to navigate complex stakeholders, and a proven track record of driving large-scale partnerships and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government ministries, departments, agencies, and public-sector organisations.
  • Lead discussions on policy-driven initiatives and ensure alignment with government vision and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor relevant government schemes, tenders, and policy updates, and evaluate opportunities for organizational participation.
  • Represent the organisation in government committees, working groups, and review meetings.
  • Identify, onboard, and nurture corporate partnerships across industries.
  • Develop strategic proposals for large corporations and ensure high-quality execution of signed partnerships.
  • Ability to understand technology platforms, digital solutions, and data-driven program models.
  • Work closely with technology teams to conceptualize and deliver digital initiatives for government and corporate partners.
  • Comfortable adopting new tools, platforms, and tech-enabled processes.
  • Lead end-to-end management of government- and corporate-led initiatives, ensuring timely implementation and high impact.
  • Drive revenue, partnership targets, and program adoption across stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams for solution building, proposal development, and project delivery.
  • Leverage strong networks across government and corporate ecosystems to build visibility and influence.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders, ensuring trust and long-term engagement.
  • Facilitate high-level meetings, review discussions, and strategic presentations.
  • Prepare detailed reports, proposals, MoUs, and documentation for government and corporate engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with government guidelines, regulatory requirements, and organizational policy standards.
  • Track KPIs, deliverables, and impact metrics for all initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in government relations, corporate partnerships, public policy, business development, or a related area.
  • Strong working knowledge of government structures, policy processes, and administrative frameworks.
  • Technology-friendly mindset with the ability to understand digital platforms, dashboards, and workflows.
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with senior government officials and CXO-level corporate leaders.
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale programs simultaneously.
  • Strong network across government bodies, public-sector institutions, corporates, and industry associations.
  • Postgraduate degree in MBA, Public Policy, Public Administration, or related fields (preferred).

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in handling digital transformation projects, skilling/education initiatives, or workforce development programs.
  • Exposure to policy advocacy, government procurement processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with cross-functional teams.
