- Accountabilities:
- Your main responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain accessible data visualization tools using React, Raphael JS, and SVG that comply with WCAG standards.
- Write clean, semantic, and accessible front-end code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
- Implement automated and manual accessibility testing to identify and resolve issues in visualization tools.
- Collaborate with designers, UX experts, and back-end teams to ensure tools are visually appealing, functional, and accessible.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for accessibility practices and guidelines.
- Stay updated with the latest accessibility standards, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve tool accessibility.
- Requirements:
- Successful candidates should have:
- 3+ years of professional front-end development experience, preferably with a focus on data visualization or complex interactive tools.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
- Experience with Raphael JS and SVG for creating dynamic visualizations.
- Strong understanding of WCAG standards and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications).
- Familiarity with accessibility testing tools such as Axe, Wave, and Lighthouse.
- Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in user research and usability testing for data visualization.
- Familiarity with additional data visualization libraries and frameworks.
- Contributions to open-source accessibility projects or active participation in accessibility-focused communities.
