Position Overview
Client is launching a premier fitness facility in Gurgaon, India, featuring a state-of-the-art gym, spa, restaurant, and retail space. The Fitness Manager will play a critical role in driving the successful launch and ensuring smooth, efficient operations post-launch. This leadership position requires a dynamic individual with strong operational expertise, exceptional team management skills, and a deep understanding of the Indian fitness industry.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Launch Phase
Collaborate with the Operations Head to develop and execute a strategic launch plan for the facility.
Oversee the setup and readiness of all gym equipment, amenities, and safety systems prior to opening.
Recruit, train, and onboard a high-performing team of fitness trainers, group class instructors, and support staff.
Design class schedules, personal training programs, and streamlined member onboarding processes.
Develop comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and customer service guidelines to ensure operational excellence.
Post-Launch Operations
Manage daily operations of the gym, group fitness classes, personal training services, spa, café, and retail shop.
Ensure an exceptional member experience through consistent service quality, facility maintenance, and staff engagement.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate staff performance, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Support and monitor trainer performance to maintain exceptional client experience.
Drive membership growth by implementing strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
Oversee revenue generation across fitness services, ensuring financial goals are met through effective management of personal training, group classes, and other offerings.
Ensure strict adherence to Indian health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment and coordinate timely maintenance or repairs to minimize downtime.
Address member inquiries, feedback, and escalations promptly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.
Foster strong client relationships to enhance retention and overall member engagement.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Valid fitness certification from a recognized organization (e.g., ACE, NASM, ACSM, ISSA, INFS) is mandatory
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the fitness industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Prior experience in launching a fitness facility will be an advantage
Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of modern fitness trends, equipment, and group exercise formats.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Familiarity with local compliance requirements, labour laws, and safety regulations in India.
