Financial Controller

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage the company’s

  general ledger

  , including journal entries, adjustments, and account reconciliations.

• Reconcile

  bank and credit card statements regularly, promptly resolving any discrepancies.
• Accurately record all financial transactions including

  accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), invoicing, receipts, and expenses

  .
• Prepare and deliver

  monthly and year-end financial statements and reports

  for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support

  annual audit processes

  and ensure that all documentation complies with statutory and internal requirements.

• Monitor and manage cash flow

  , providing timely updates and financial insights to management.
• Maintain comprehensive financial records for

  tax preparation and compliance

  , ensuring proper documentation and organization.
• Ensure all accounting and bookkeeping activities conform to

  US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  .

Qualifications:

• US CPA, Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent qualification in accounting.
• Minimum

  5 years of relevant experience

  in bookkeeping/accounting, with proven experience supporting

  US-based companies

  .
• Proficiency in accounting software such as

  QuickBooks

  , Xero, or similar platforms.
• In-depth understanding of

  general ledger functions, financial reporting, and reconciliations

  .
• Strong command of

  Microsoft Excel

  and financial analysis tools.
• Excellent

  organizational, analytical, and communication

  skills.
• High level of

  accuracy and attention to detail

  .
• Ability to

  handle confidential financial data

  with discretion and integrity.
• Experience with

  payroll processing

  and

  tax filings

  is a strong plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with

  federal and Illinois state

  tax and accounting regulations.
• Prior experience working with

  small or mid-sized businesses

  in the US.
• Advanced

  Excel

  capabilities including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling.
