Role OverviewWe are looking for a German Language Specialist to join the Accounts Payable team within Finance Operations (FinOps). This role is well suited for a finance operations professional with strong German language skills who thrives in a dynamic, global environment and is driven by operational excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering outstanding stakeholder experiences.In this role, you will support business operations involving German-speaking vendors and partners, working closely with global finance, operations, technology, and business teams. You will leverage your fluency in German and English, combined with strong analytical skills, ownership, and execution discipline, to deliver accurate, scalable, and high-quality outcomes.Language & Stakeholder SupportCommunicate clearly and professionally with German-speaking vendors and stakeholders via email, chat, and callsTranslate, review, and validate basic to intermediate German business and finance documentationSupport issue resolution and manage escalations for German-speaking partners, ensuring timely and accurate outcomesFinance Operations & Process ExcellenceConduct deep-dive analyses to identify process gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunitiesDrive daily operations to meet or exceed performance, accuracy, and controllership targetsLead resolution of critical vendor issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented to enhance customer experiencePartner with Technology, Product, and Business Partnering teams to design scalable, efficient, and compliant processesRepresent Finance Operations in leadership reviews and stakeholder discussionsStrategy, Risk & Continuous ImprovementContribute to short-, mid-, and long-term operational improvement roadmapsIdentify and assess financial and operational risks and opportunities, driving mitigation plans and ad-hoc initiativesUse data-driven insights to influence decisions, improve efficiency, and support business growthChampion continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen automation, accuracy, and scalability
Basic Qualifications
German language proficiency at B1, B2, or C1 level (Goethe / TELC / ÖSD or equivalent)8+ years of overall professional experiencePrior experience in customer support, IT support, BPO, sales, or finance operationsExperience working with international clients or global business processes4+ years of experience across multiple finance and accounting roles4+ years of Accounts Payable experience4+ years of experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analysis4+ years of experience driving process improvements through automation and data analysisProven ability to influence business decisions using data and insightsDemonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive alignmentStrong decision-making capability in high-pressure and ambiguous environmentsExcellent negotiation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in German and EnglishBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business, or a Master’s degree in accounting or finance
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of experience identifying data gaps or inaccuracies, conducting root cause analysis, and executing escalation plans4+ years of experience solving complex business challenges through financial modeling, analysis, and recommendations with measurable business impactAdvanced proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of SQL / ETLExperience in forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial performance interpretation
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of Accounts Payable (AP) experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- B1 or B2 certification in the German language
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
