Your day at NTT DATA The Senior Principal Financial Accountant is a highly skilled and expert-level professional role, responsible for preparing highly complex financial reports, processing of journal entries, processing of accounting month end, and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. Key Responsibilities: Leads and oversees the financial forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and long-term planning. Directs complex account reconciliations, proactively resolving discrepancies and fostering collaboration across finance and non-finance teams to ensure financial accuracy and transparency. Provides advanced financial analysis, including journal review, data interpretation, and reporting, while guiding variance analysis to support executive decision-making. Manages the preparation and coordination of annual audit deliverables, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Champions process improvement initiatives, leveraging automation and digital tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in accounting operations. Advises business unit leadership by analyzing historical financial performance and developing forward-looking budgets and forecasts that inform strategic planning. Implements and monitors robust financial controls, ensuring system integrity, compliance, and the reliability of reported financial data. Leads month-end close activities, including the review and approval of journal entries, and oversees the execution of complex accounting system transactions. May be required to act as strategic advisor to management, taking on high-impact projects and initiatives that drive financial excellence and organizational growth. Knowledge and Attributes: Significantly strong communication skills (verbal and written). Significantly strong interpersonal skills with good planning and organizing abilities. Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and deadline driven. Ability to cope with stressful situations and deal with different individuals at all levels in the organization. Takes own initiative and have a solutions-orientated approach and maintains a high standard of accuracy and quality. Proactive approach with the ability to think ahead in a fast-paced environment. Significantly strong analytical skills, and an ability to understand underlying business drivers and provide actionable insights. Sound and proven working knowledge of accounting practices and principles. Significant knowledge and prior exposure to international entities, foreign currency and inter-company transactions. Significant knowledge tax legislative requirements locally, and in international jurisdictions. Academic Qualifications and Certifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance or related field. Required Experience: Significant experience gained in similar role preferably within a similar global organization. Significant financial accounting experience.
