Role & responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Management
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of field sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales goals.
  • Set clear sales targets and performance expectations for the team.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to improve the skills and performance of team members.
  • Monitor the daily activities of the sales team, ensuring they are productive and following company policies.
  • Sales Strategy and Execution
  • Develop and implement field sales strategies to achieve business objectives and maximize revenue.
  • Ensure the team is targeting the right customers and presenting the companys products and services effectively.
  • Drive sales performance through direct customer interaction, ensuring consistent achievement of targets.
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support the team in resolving any client issues or concerns, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Encourage field sales representatives to gather feedback from customers to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting
  • Track and analyze the teams sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales targets, team performance, and market trends to senior management.
  • Use data and insights to guide sales strategies and adjust plans as needed to meet objectives.
  • Sales Training and Development
  • Provide ongoing training to the sales team, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge of products, services, and sales techniques.
  • Keep the team updated on industry trends, new products, and changes in company policies or procedures.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with team members, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Provide insights to senior management on market conditions, customer preferences, and sales opportunities.
  • Help the team adjust their approach based on market feedback to stay ahead of competitors.
  • Recruitment and Staffing
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new field sales representatives.
  • Participate in interview processes and ensure that the team is adequately staffed with qualified candidates.
  • Collaboration with Other Teams
  • Work closely with the marketing, product, and customer service teams to ensure alignment on sales strategies and customer needs.
  • Ensure that feedback from the sales team is communicated to relevant departments to improve product offerings and services.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Bachelors degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in field sales, with at least 2-3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong sales skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to handle customer complaints and objections.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
