Factory Head (Food Industry)

Roles & Responsibilities :

Production & Operations Management:

o Plan, organize, and direct daily production activities to meet required targets for quality, quantity, and efficiency, ensuring timely delivery of products.

o Optimize production schedules, workflow, and resource allocation to maximize output and minimize waste.

o Monitor and analyse production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

o Oversee the entire production cycle, from raw material receipt and storage to final product packaging and dispatching.

Quality Control & Food Safety:

o Ensure strict adherence to all food safety regulations (e.g., FSSAI standards) and company quality control policies and procedures.

o Implement and maintain robust quality assurance systems, including or regular water test inspections, testing, and documentation, if need food test through Laboratory, Should ensure it.

o Lead efforts in maintaining a highly hygienic and sanitary production environment.

o Address and resolve any quality-related issues promptly and effectively.

o Ensure the Product consistency is Mandatory.

Team Leadership & Development:

o Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of production staff, supervisors, and technicians.

o Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and facilitate professional development for team members.

o Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-oriented work culture.

o Ensure compliance with all labor laws and company HR policies.

Inventory & Cost Management:

o Manage raw material inventory, finished goods, and packaging materials to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or excesses.

o Work closely with procurement to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of ingredients.

o Monitor and control production costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement efficiency measures.

Maintenance & Safety:

o Oversee the routine maintenance and repair of all factory machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

o Implement and enforce rigorous health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

o Conduct regular safety audits and address any potential hazards proactively

Compliance & Reporting:

o Ensure all factory operations comply with relevant local, state, and national regulations.

o Generate regular reports on production output, quality metrics, inventory levels, and operational costs for management review.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.

· Minimum of 8-12 years of progressive experience in factory/production management within the food processing industry, with significant experience in the sweets or confectionery sector preferred.

· Proven track record of successfully managing a production team and achieving operational excellence.

· In-depth knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., FSSAI, HACCP, GMP) and quality management systems.

· Strong understanding of production planning, inventory control, and Despatch Management.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, make data-driven decisions, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

· Proficiency in using production management software and MS Office Suite.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

· Based in or willing to relocate to Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.
