About KABIL

KABIL—meaning skillful, capable, and competent—is a professional support organization committed to advancing rural livelihoods and enhancing the well-being of marginalized communities in India. We collaborate with government agencies, corporates, NGOs, and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), offering in-depth knowledge, field-tested strategies, and hands-on support.

Our work draws from decades of grassroots experience in poverty alleviation, natural resource management, community enterprise development, institution building, and value chain strengthening. KABIL’s team comprises professionals with significant field experience, many of whom were previously associated with reputed non-profit organisations. It was registered in 2012 and has been working majorly in the state of Assam. It also had its footprints in Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand. Position Overview

The Executive Director (ED) will lead KABIL’s strategic vision and operational execution. As the organization's most senior leader, the ED will guide KABIL through its next phase of growth, deepen its impact, and strengthen its identity as a key institution in India’s civil society landscape.

• Strategic Leadership & Vision

• Define and implement a long-term vision for KABIL’s growth and impact.
• Lead the development and execution of strategic and operational plans.
• Incubate innovative program models and prototypes in collaboration with field teams.

• Organizational Development

• Build a high-performing, cohesive, and motivated team.
• Foster a culture of learning, reflection, and excellence.
• Enhance organizational systems, governance, and accountability.

• Stakeholder Engagement & Representation

• Serve as KABIL’s principal representative and spokesperson.
• Cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships with donors, government agencies, NGOs, and other allies.
• Amplify KABIL’s voice and visibility in the development sector.

• Governance & Compliance

• Act as the ex-officio Member Secretary of the Governing Board and General Body.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
• Uphold high standards of transparency, ethics, and stewardship.

• Resource Mobilization & Financial Oversight

• Lead fundraising efforts and develop diversified, sustainable funding streams.
• Oversee sound financial management and program accountability.

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum of 10–15 years of professional experience in rural development or the social sector.
• Proven leadership experience, ideally in mission-driven or nonprofit organizations.
• Not older than 55 years as of April 1, 2025.

Location Requirement

The selected candidate must be based in Guwahati or Udalguri (Assam) for at least the initial two years.

Compensation

A competitive salary package will be offered, commensurate with experience and aligned with compensation norms in the social development sector.
