Position Summary
The Established Program Manager (PM) is member of the Drug Development Program Management (DD PM) team, and a matrix partner to the Established Brands Lead for the established and mature assets portfolio across all Therapeutic Areas. This PM is responsible for serving as the COO for the Established Brands Global Program Team (EB GPT) ensuring the timely execution of the brand management strategy and maintenance activities that are delivered through the GPT and relevant sub-teams.
Key Responsibilities
Technical/Functional Responsibilities:
- Utilizes project management skills and competencies to deliver a collaborative and efficient high performing Established Brands team.
- Develops and maintains an integrated program/project timeline in approved system(s) with a clear focus and understanding for critical path accountability and delivery of the brand strategy, including but not limited to activities that ensure:
- Ongoing commercial supply and regulatory compliance
- Brand optimization (e.g., markets, stock keeping units [SKU] rationalization)
- Completion of post approval commitments/requirements, or response to health authority information requests, and completion of any remaining marketing authorization filings and approvals
- Ongoing medical evidence generation and dissemination (e.g., publications)
- Brand deletions
- Supports generation of development scenarios with clear visibility for interdependencies and impact for time, budget, resource, value and risk.
- Leads risk management planning including development of management plans and escalation for high probability / high impact risks.
- Maintains oversight of the program budget, monitors resource requirements and advocates for the resources required for delivery.
- In partnership with the Established Brands Lead, ensures clear communication of program progress to the team and stakeholders. Accountable to ensure the team's latest status and plan are represented accurately (high degree of data quality) in Performance Central (or other relevant business insights).
- Facilitates preparation of documents, presentations, and governance packages as part of the EB GPT.
- Collaborates with alliance partners as applicable.
- Acts as a learner and contributor to DD PM best practices; adapts to new processes and tools.
Senior Manager Level Distinction
:
- At the Senior Manager level, the PM is expected to serve as an emerging Program Management SME operating as a representative of the DD PM Team. This includes operational focus for the specific roles and responsibilities contained in this specification, delivered with mentorship support from more senior PM team members and in partnership with the Established Brands Lead.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of a BS/MS degree in a scientific discipline is required with 5 years of pharmaceutical experience will be considered. PMP® certification is desirable.
- Possesses some foundational knowledge for late-stage development and post-approval product maintenance, including some knowledge for pharmaceutical industry regulations.
- Some training and experience delivering through traditional Project Management methodologies skills. This includes but is not limited to project planning, risk management, matrix and stakeholder management, budget management and facilitative leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with matrix team members to execute the approved strategy per governance approved schedule, budget and resource with clear accountability lines.
- Solid organizational and communication skills, able to summarize and escalate issues effectively.
- Excellent understanding and ability to use approved project management tools including Planisware and Microsoft Project (or similar).
- Emerging leadership skills; specifically in the areas of team facilitation and leading without authority in cross-functional settings.
