The Role:

Engineering Manager – DevOps

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead the DevOps function to implement secure and scalable infrastructure on AWS and/or other public cloud providers.
• Understand complex problem statements from both internal teams (engineering, product, compliance) and external stakeholders (banks, vendors, auditors), and translate them into scalable, secure, and innovative infrastructure solutions.
• Oversee integration efforts with banks and financial partners, including network configurations, VPN setup, secure tunnels, and data flow management.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Information Security teams to ensure infrastructure meets industry regulations (PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, RBI/SEBI guidelines, etc.).
• Define and maintain RASCI matrices to clearly outline team responsibilities and ownership during bank onboarding and integrations.
• Participate in the RFP (Request for Proposal) process—providing technical input, architecture documentation, and compliance alignment as needed.
• Ensure full lifecycle operations—from provisioning and CI/CD pipelines to monitoring, observability, and incident management.
• Familiarity with incident response procedures and BCP/DR planning in the context of financial services.
• Promote the use of container orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes and tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Improve system security posture and infrastructure hardening against both known and emerging threats.
• Recruit and mentor high-performing DevOps talent; foster a culture of engineering excellence and ownership.
• Build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, Product, Security, and external banking partners

Mandatory Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in Infrastructure/DevOps with at least 5 years in cloud environments, primarily AWS.
• Hands-on experience with banking/fintech systems including networking requirements, compliance protocols, and third-party integrations.
• Proven hands-on experience with physical infrastructure management including data center operations, rack-and-stack deployments, networking hardware (switches, firewalls), cabling, and co-location environments.
• Deep understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, VLANs, routing, and secure connectivity between on-prem and cloud (e.g., AWS Direct Connect, site-to-site VPNs).
• Experience with hybrid infrastructure architecture, connecting cloud-native systems to on-premise or partner-hosted systems, particularly in the banking/financial sector.
• Deep understanding of financial regulatory compliance, including PCI, ISO, RBI, and SOC 2 controls as they pertain to infrastructure.
• Proven experience working with RFPs, especially in responding to infrastructure/security/compliance sections.
• Experience defining and managing RASCI charts or equivalent frameworks for multi-stakeholder projects.
• Experience working with

  SIEM tools, audit logging

  monitoring solutions

  like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
• Knowledge of networking concepts: firewalls, VPNs, subnets, NAT gateways, VPC peering, etc.
• Strong proficiency in CI/CD, IaC, containers, and orchestration tools.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
