Engineering Manager - Data Engineering

.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to manage and grow a high-performing data engineering team. In this role, you will drive the development of scalable, innovative data products that serve both internal stakeholders and external customers. You will oversee data pipelines, analytics platforms, and data-driven solutions while fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration. Working closely with Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams, you will define and execute the data roadmap, implement AI-driven solutions, and ensure high standards for data quality, reliability, and security. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will balance strategic vision with technical execution, making a direct impact on the company’s operations and data-driven offerings.
Accountabilities
- Define and execute the data engineering roadmap, building both internal and customer-facing data products.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers, promoting technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Architect and design scalable data models, pipelines, and platforms in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Drive the application of AI and advanced analytics in data products and operational processes.
- Ensure data quality, observability, and security across all systems and platforms.
- Collaborate across teams to communicate strategy, set technical standards, and align on key initiatives.
- Maintain hands-on involvement in coding and technical decision-making to guide best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering and 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Expertise in data engineering tools and technologies including dBt, Snowflake, Airflow, AWS, PySpark, SQL, and Python.
- Strong experience with data observability, monitoring, and operational best practices.
- Proven ability to build and scale teams while fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication, planning, and roadmapping skills to align technical and business objectives.
- Hands-on experience in designing scalable data architectures and analytics solutions.
- Experience working in fast-paced, innovative environments is preferred.
