Your Job

As a Product Design Engineer will be an integral part of the CES Engineering function, supporting sustaining and product development initiatives. Will be initially focus on sustaining engineering tasks under the mentorship of senior engineers, with a progressive transition toward New Product Development (NPD) projects as your capabilities mature.

Molex Connected Enterprise Solutions engineering team is part of the Molex group. Our team excels in providing comprehensive solutions, particularly in the domains of Data Centres, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Medical Healthcare, Central Offices, and other structured cabling systems. In addition, we support Molex CoreSync, a versatile smart building solution that incorporates a wide range of devices and sensors, allowing it to be adapted for various applications and industries.

What You Will Do

  • Sustaining Engineering:
  • Execute Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Work Requests (EWRs).
  • Support modifications to existing designs and associated documentation updates. o Assist in component and system-level qualification testing.
  • Product Design & Documentation:
  • Develop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings using NX CAD.
  • Prepare and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Ensure documentation complies with Molex Product Development Process (PDP) and internal design standards.
  • Design Validation & Compliance:
  • Support design verification using DVP, DFMEA, tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, and PPAP. o Assist in obtaining product certifications (UL, CE, UKCA) and maintaining compliance with REACH, RoHS, and other regulatory standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with CES global teams including Operations, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Quality.
  • Interface with manufacturing and suppliers, applying DFM principles to support production ramp-up.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve engineering processes and product designs.
  • Maintain high standards of quality in all deliverables.
  • Global Communication & Flexibility:
  • Regularly engage with international teams across regions (USA, India, ANZ, Poland, China, etc.).
  • Be flexible in working hours to accommodate global collaboration and issue resolution.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally, especially in cross-cultural settings.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of design experience, preferably in electromechanical components and assemblies.
  • Proficient with NX CAD, SAP, and PLM systems.
  • Knowledge of plastic and sheet metal design and ECN process
