Electrical Application & Design Engineer Experience: 0-1 Year (Fresher) Salary: 20k - 25k per month (Negotiable based on experience) Job Overview: The Application & Design Engineer is responsible for preparing detailed technical reports, designing electrical systems, and selecting essential components based on design layouts. This position requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, project management skills, and the ability to produce high-quality reports on project status, costs, and risks. The engineer will work closely with design teams to ensure all electrical components are appropriately selected and meet project specifications. Roles and Responsibilities: Assist in Cost Estimation for Electrical Systems: o Learn to prepare cost estimates for electrical installations based on project requirements, design specifications, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities). o Support senior engineers in calculating the cost of materials, labor, and equipment for electrical works. Vendor Coordination and Supplier Selection: o Assist in identifying and evaluating electrical vendors and suppliers for materials, components, and services. o Learn to compare vendor quotations and assist in procurement decisions based on cost-effectiveness and quality. Study Project Specifications and Design: o Review electrical design specifications, drawings, and commercial terms to help prepare accurate cost estimates. o Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities based on the design and specifications provided. Prepare Costing Reports: o Assist in preparing and maintaining detailed cost reports, including project budgets, progress reports, and cost forecasts. o Learn how to track electrical project costs and identify any discrepancies between the budget and actual expenses. Support in Design Changes and Variations: o Learn how to evaluate the impact of design changes, modifications, or unforeseen challenges on electrical costs. o Support senior engineers in identifying alternative solutions to reduce costs or improve efficiency. Collaboration with Engineering Teams: o Work closely with senior electrical engineers and project managers to review cost data and provide support in decision making. o Participate in project meetings and discussions related to cost estimation and budgeting. Weekly and Monthly Reports: o Prepare detailed weekly and monthly reports outlining project costs, budget & status,and any potential risks or changes that might impact costs. Room Data Sheet (RDS): o Prepare Room Data Sheets based on design specifications and requirements. o Ensure that all room configurations are accurately documented, and all electrical design parameters are included. Electrical System Design: o Perform selection of High Tension (HT), Low Tension (LT), and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems based on the overall design layout. o Collaborate with the design team to ensure that the electrical systems are correctly integrated into the building design. Component Selection: o Select appropriate generators (DG), transformers, and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems as per project specifications. o Ensure the selected components meet design requirements for power capacity, efficiency, and reliability. o Prepare documentation for the selection of these components and verify compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Quality Assurance: o Ensure that all designs, selections, and reports comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements. o Conduct design reviews to identify and address any issues before implementation. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. • Fresh graduate (0-1 year) with an interest in electrical costing, project management, and budgeting. • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation processes (training will be provided). • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic environment. • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a team. • Strong understanding of electrical design principles, including HT, LT, LV, and UPS systems.
