Electrical Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME).

You’ll Be Responsible For


  • Acting as the

    global electrical SME

    for

    API

    and

    formulation

    facilities (sterile and non-sterile).
  • Executing and delivering project phases - feasibility, conceptual, FEED, and detailed design - related to electrical systems independently.
  • Reviewing, commenting, and approving electrical deliverables prepared by third-party consultants and design companies.
  • Developing and maintaining company

    standards, datasheets, URS, and best practices

    in line with global and local regulations.
  • Collaborating with

    Process, HVAC, Utilities, Architecture, Civil, and Automation

    teams to ensure electrical designs align with overall project goals.
  • Designing

    MV and LV distribution networks

    , ensuring compliance with

    IEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISO, and ISPE

    standards.
  • Evaluating and selecting

    vendors and engineering consultants

    based on technical qualification and project needs.
  • Conducting

    electrical network studies

    (load flow, short circuit, harmonic, arc flash, relay coordination) using

    ETAP

    or equivalent software.
  • Performing

    DIALux studies

    for illumination level calculation and ensuring compliance with lighting standards.
  • Ensuring proper design and installation for

    cleanroom

    and

    ATEX/hazardous areas

    , including antistatic flooring and lightning protection.
  • Overseeing

    testing and commissioning (FAT/SAT)

    of electrical equipment and validating test results.
  • Leading internal programs such as

    communities of practice

    , knowledge-sharing sessions, and vendor presentations.
  • Estimating and managing

    CapEx and OpEx

    costs, preparing project timelines, and monitoring progress.
  • Ensuring adherence to

    safety protocols

    , including grounding, hazardous area compliance, and certified equipment use.
  • Preparing and maintaining all

    technical documentation

    , reports, and progress updates for global management review meetings.



Key Skills & Requirements


  • Strong expertise in

    electrical utilities analysis, modeling, and calculation

    .
  • Proficiency in

    ETAP, DIALux, AutoCAD, SPEL, SPI

    .
  • Solid knowledge of

    transformers, switchgear (MV/LV), MCC, PCC, UPS, VFDs, substations, lighting, bus trunking, and battery systems

    .
  • Familiarity with

    cleanroom environments

    and

    sterile processing requirements

    .
  • Knowledge of

    Hazardous Area Classification

    and

    process safety/risk assessment

    .
  • Strong understanding of

    ISO, ISPE

    , and regulatory

    quality management systems

    .
  • Excellent

    communication, interpersonal, and project management

    skills.
  • Willingness to

    travel for on-site support

    as required.



About you:


  • A degree in

    Electrical Engineering

    from a reputed university.
  • Minimum of

    10 years of experience

    in the

    pharmaceutical industry

    , ideally with a

    consulting firm

    background.
  • Proven experience with

    international projects

    , especially in

    Europe and the US

    .
  • Strong command of

    English

    , both written and spoken.
  • Excellent

    leadership, analytical, and project management

    skills.
