Homes & Gardens is expanding with a dedicated India edition, and we’re looking for an Editor to lead the brand in this exciting new chapter. With passion for home design, decorating, projects and gardens, you’ll set the editorial vision, shape content strategy, and establish Homes & Gardens as a trusted authority in the Indian design landscape. This is a unique opportunity to launch and grow a world-renowned brand in a dynamic new market.

Key responsibilities

●      Define and lead the editorial direction of Homes & Gardens India across print, digital and social.

●      Commission, edit and write high-quality features that combine authority, accessibility and flair.

●      Build and maintain strong relationships within the Indian design community, representing the brand at industry events, panels and partnerships.

●      Develop visually-led content with a strong editorial eye for photography, imagery and layout.

●      Guide and mentor contributors, ensuring consistency of voice and quality across all platforms.

●      Work closely with commercial and marketing teams to support brand partnerships, campaigns and events.

●      Oversee digital publishing with hands-on CMS experience and best practices for SEO and discoverability.

●      Package and adapt content for multiple platforms, ensuring it lands with maximum impact across web, newsletters, social and print.

●      Drive audience engagement through a passion for social media, bringing ideas for content that sparks conversation and community.

●      Contribute to audience growth strategies, bringing creative ideas to extend reach and engagement across digital platforms.

●      Flex across multiple roles within a small, ambitious team, bringing entrepreneurial energy to a launch environment. Collaborate closely with the global Homes & Gardens team to align with brand standards, share insights and bring an international perspective to the India edition.

Essential experience

●      Proven experience as an editor in lifestyle, interiors or design media, with responsibility for content strategy and brand leadership.

●      Deep knowledge of the Indian design and interiors community, with the credibility and confidence to represent Homes & Gardens publicly.

●      Demonstrated expertise in commissioning, editing and writing features with precision, detail and tonal sensitivity.

●      Strong digital experience including CMS-based publishing, SEO awareness and analytics-informed decision making.

●      Ability to package and adapt high quality content across multiple platforms, understanding what works where and why.

●      Social media savvy, with a strong instinct for visual storytelling and audience connection.

●      Strong visual sensibility with experience overseeing layouts, imagery selection and art direction.

●      Commercial awareness, with experience supporting marketing and brand partnerships.

●      Experience managing contributors, freelancers or a small team, with strong organisational and leadership skills.

●      Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, balancing editorial ambition with hands-on delivery
